Kroka Expeditions
Mission
Kroka Expeditions fosters consciousness and altruism in young adults through a living relationship with the natural world and by taking our places within the circle of community.
What does Kroka Expeditions do?
Based on an organic farm in Marlow, NH, Kroka Expeditions is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit serving more than 1,000 young people each year through wilderness, sustainable living, and experiential education programs. Its 93-acre, student-run campus is a working model of contemporary sustainability, featuring livestock, vegetable gardens, solar electricity, wood-fired heat, composting toilets, and a strong emphasis on local, handmade resources.
Kroka offers school and community programs, summer adventure expeditions across New England, and immersive five-month semester programs that help young people build confidence, resilience, and purpose as they transition to adulthood.
How Kroka Expeditions serves our community
Kroka is committed to accessibility through discounted programs, sliding-scale tuition, and generous scholarships, serving public schools and low-income families throughout the Monadnock Region and New England. The organization also provides free outdoor education programming to Perkins Elementary School in Marlow.
Many programs include a community service component, with students supporting neighbors through hands-on projects such as stacking firewood or helping distribute food, reinforcing the connection between personal growth and community responsibility. Volunteers support Kroka throughout the year, including Spring Volunteer Day on Saturday, April 25, 2026. Donations to kroka.org/donate help fund programs and scholarships.
