Mission

With more than 70 years of service to children with special needs in our community—and the only pediatric post-acute provider in New Hampshire, our mission is to enrich the lives of children with complex medical and developmental needs, support their families, and collaborate with other community providers to build a continuum of care.

How Cedarcrest Center for Children with Disabilities serves our community

We are proud to be our community’s provider of short and long term care for children—infant to age 21, along with day education services at the Cedarcrest School where we can serve up to 26 children as residents and 20 as students at any one time. The Center offers special education services to children throughout the region—and we specialize in providing acute respiratory care for children needing ventilator support. Our programs, care and services cover many needs:

Specialized Medical Care: Cedarcrest Center offers a comprehensive program of medical, special education and therapy services for children who are medically and developmentally complex, including high-tech support for children who are ventilator-dependent.

Cedarcrest School: The School is approved by the State of New Hampshire to provide Special Education services to children with complex medical and developmental needs. Educational disabilities served include: multiple disabilities, developmental delay, intellectual disabilities, other health impaired, orthopedic impaired, deafness, hearing impairment, visual impairment, deaf/blindness, and TBI.

Therapy Services: Cedarcrest Center offers a full range of pediatric physical, occupational, and speech-language therapy and evaluation services. Our staff therapists work with parents, physicians, school district staff, clinics and agencies to ensure well-rounded therapeutic experiences that carry over into other aspects of a child’s life.

Nursing education opportunities: Nursing students can receive educational opportunities through clinical rotations and observation.

Walk & Roll Fundraiser: For the past nine years, this popular fundraiser and 2.1 mile race, has helped raise money to support the important work Cedarcrest does and services they provide to our community and offers people with all levels of mobility the chance to participate on foot, in strollers or wheelchairs.
