How Fall Mountain Regional High School Alumni Association serves our community

The FMRHSAA supports our stated purposes by:

• Presenting an annual alumni scholarship award of $2500 to a worthy graduating Fall Mountain senior. This was initiated in 2022. As our Scholarship Fund grows, more and/or larger awards will be presented. Learn more.

• Supporting an annual FM Alumni Golf Tournament held at the Hooper Golf Course. This event was initiated by FM graduates as a benefit for the Alumni Scholarship Fund. It is our most successful fund-raiser. In 3 years, the tournament has raised $23,000 for the scholarship fund. Every golf participant (88) is an FMRHS alumni. Learn more.

• Encouraging all 5-year classes each year to hold a class reunion. The Alumni Association lends support to reunion organizers with the steps of contacting class members, reserving locations and contracting catering assistance, as needed. Reunion support was initiated in 2023, with five of the 11 reunion-year classes having held gatherings. Our expectation is to increase participation yearly.

• Participating in Homecoming Activities. Our first participation was in 2022. Last year, recognition of the 55- & 50-year classes—1968 & 1973—was held in the school cafeteria before the homecoming football game. Support of other school sports during homecoming week will be added. Learn more.

• Donating to the Booster’s Club and providing directed giving. In 2023 a $1000 donation was presented for upgrades to the sound system for the school football field.

Looking Ahead

FMRHSAA is in the planning stages of some great ideas including:

• Partnering with the FMRHS guidance department to provide mentoring opportunities by connecting interested juniors and seniors with alumni to support student development, career advice, information, etc.

• Partnering with other local nonprofits to benefit the Fall Mountain Regional community (e.g. Fall Mountain Food Shelf) through volunteer work and directed giving. Future activities of the FMRHSAA are limited only by the energy and interest of the members and the Board of Directors.

How Does the Organization Serve Our Community?

The annual Alumni Scholarship awards presented to date offer support for the recipients from each graduating class. Further, the participation of the Alumni Association demonstrates appropriate citizenship behavior to developing young adults.
