SAVINGS BANK OF WALPOLE ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT OF STEVE BIANCO

Keene – Savings Bank of Walpole’s Senior Commercial Lender, Steve Bianco, will retire after 15 years of leading the Bank’s Commercial Lending team. Bianco has been an invaluable asset to SBW, serving as a member of the Bank’s leadership team for over 15 years and playing a vital role in the Bank’s growth as SBW’s Senior Lender and Senior Commercial Lender.

During Steve’s tenure, he fostered many lending relationships with local businesses and community members, supported by loan growth of more than $400 million, or 300%. Additionally, during the pandemic, he led the Commercial Lending team’s efforts to bring more than $55 million in federal funds to SBW customers and the local economy through the Paycheck Protection Program.

“Steve has been a true leader of SBW, both inside the Bank and in the community,” says Mark Bodin, President of Savings Bank of Walpole. “His experience, commitment, and dedication have made a positive impact on the lives of both our customers and fellow SBW employees—he will be missed! We wish Steve a very happy and well-deserved retirement.”

As part of the transition, Amy Lehr has been promoted to the SVP, Senior Commercial Lender role and will lead the Commercial Lending function.  Lehr has been part of SBW’s Commercial Lending Department for over 20 years, most recently serving as SVP, Credit and Administration. “We are fortunate to have someone as talented and connected to our customers and community as Amy to step into this important role” said Bodin. “Amy has jumped right in and is prepared to serve the businesses and organizations of our region.”
