Savings Bank Of Walpole To Add New Jobs And Expand Office Space In Keene

Keene, NH – Savings Bank of Walpole (SBW) has announced plans to add up to ten new jobs and expand office space in Keene in the coming months – a decision Bank officials say reflects new responsibilities brought on by SBW’s affiliation with New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp (NHMB), as well as the local community’s growing support. Savings Bank of Walpole reports that its total assets have grown by nearly 50% over the past two years, with continued strong growth expected.

The combination of growth and opportunities for existing staff resulting from SBW’s 2018 affiliation with New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp has created a need for the Bank to hire additional employees and to expand office space in the local area. “We always believed our affiliation with New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp would result in expansion and more opportunities in our local market,” said Mark Bodin, President of Savings Bank of Walpole. “Our model is one that recognizes the strength and importance of continued investment in our local communities and this expansion is a great example of that.”

Bodin said the bank has secured 5,000 square feet of leased space on Kit Street, adjacent to the Filtrine Manufacturing facility, and plans to move in mid-June.

The new office space will be the home of the existing SBW Customer Resource Center (CRC), which is expanding to meet the needs of its sister banks, Meredith Village Savings Bank and Merrimack County Savings Bank, both of which are also affiliates of New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp.

“The fact that this company-wide expansion is being located here in Keene speaks volumes about the strength of our SBW team, our history of outstanding customer service, and our belief that by hiring additional staff from this community, we can continue providing our customers with the level of service they deserve. In fact, we are busting at the seams at our Marlboro Street branch as a direct result of the number of positions we’ve added and new hires we’ve made over the past few years,” Bodin said.

Long-time SBW employee Kathy Settipane will lead the expanded Customer Resource Center team. She said the Bank plans to hire 5-10 new team members to meet the needs of the expanded department. “These positions will be responsible for delivering excellent account and service support and solutions for a wide range of inquiries to the customers of SBW and its sister banks. A background in providing exceptional customer service and problem solving, along with a passion for helping people will be important,” said Settipane.
